I just got back from my first summer sale on the Point this Saturday, and what an experience it was. Here is how it went.
We had about an hour and a half to set up and I can tell you right now I had packed up waaaay too many things to be packed out in that amount of time. But I managed with lots of help too by Frank and my friend Susie who graciously came and helped me the whole day.
I set up my booth like a small pop-up store with shelving in the back, a table to the right and a check-out station to the left. This worked really well. I had a white canopy wall behind the shelves with a banner above that that created a nice quiet backdrop for all my ceramics. I used my crepe poppies on the banner for a bit of color. Not too much. Just the right amount.
It is always such a special feeling seeing all your work in a collection like this. All in one place, together.
Throughout the day, I had a steady stream of people come through and it was so much fun to chat with everyone and talk about my ceramics and help everyone find just the thing they were looking for. It simply never gets old to see how other people react to your work and I must say I had so much awesome feedback to my collection both as far as color, style, lines and quality. I am so grateful for everyone who came by to browse and shop. Thank you!
If you follow on Instagram you saw that I got a new bag stamp just in time for this market and here is one my orders packed up and ready to go to its new home. On the right is my table with a vignette in the front and some Christmas ornaments in the back. Hint: August is definitely too early for Christmas ornament, but hey, I had to experience it for myself.
This front corner on the left was my checkout corner. Now that we have used it and seen how it works in action, I have some good ideas on how it can be better for next time.
Please meet the hosts of the sale, Jill and her husband, who was in charge of serving ice cold Rose (all day) at this hot summer day's sip and shop! Just marvelous. Thank you!
There were 19 vendors at the sale and here are just a few of them.
I only had a few moments to walk around myself, so I am very happy that I had time to get these few pictures.
So many local artists and artisans with their handmade items. It was such a joy to be a part of.
We ended at 4pm and luckily we had quite a bit less to pack up compared to when we got there. Thank you to all who came and supported our hyper local craft and maker community. See you at the next sale!
Let's finish out with a picture of my booth after it got shaded enough to get this picture.
You are always welcome to contact or dm me if you see a piece you want and I will let you know if it is still available.
