Highlights from the St. Francis of Assisi School and Church Holiday Fair

This past week was the annual sale at St. Francis of Assisi School and Church in Burien. It was my first year attending, so I did not know what to expect. I spent the better part of October and November preparing for it. I spent quite a bit of time getting ready including the prep of booth decorations. I flocked a little 3 ft faux Christmas tree and baked some orange slices for ornaments. I also made some paper ornaments for my banner.

The night before the sale, we went to the school to set up our two tables in the Gym at St. Francis. With that out of the way, we had just enough room in the van for one trip the next morning. 

That night, I learned then that I could not have my usual banner up because it was too tall, so we hurried home to cut new poles for a shorter banner and in case we could not have that, I sewed a quick banner to go on the front of my table as an alternative, then cut out and ironed on my logo and A Home for Ceramics name. The next morning we got to the school around 7am. Frank, my dear husband, helped wheel everything inside while I unpacked and set everything up. He stayed the whole day too and helped me wrap and check out. He is super awesome like that! Thank you Frank!

Below you can see the new banner I made the night before. It needs to meet the iron, they seem a bit estranged. I should introduce them. On the banner behind the table you can see the paper ornaments I made for the pine garland. And of course the most important part: on the table you see all my pottery displayed. It is always such a cool experience when all the pieces I have made over the course of the year all of sudden are displayed as one big happy family. 

Here is a close up of my Christmas ornament collection for 2023. I made a few new designs this year. A fox, a snowy Christmas tree, reusable gift tags, a 3D snowflake Christmas tree. 

Below is a closeup of the little Christmas tree all decked out with flocking, orange slices and my ceramic acorns. And hey, there I am. 

While the sale was going on, I had one sweet lady ask me about the paper ornaments, which I have intended to sell as kits. She bought one from my display and came and picked up a couple of kits from me the next day. I will be bringing more of these kits with me my next sale on December 2nd at the Cove in Normandy Park. The sale went really well. I just loved talking to everyone who came out. Thank you so much for your support. It means so much to me. I look forward to coming back to St. Francis next year!
